Design & Delight: Acrylic Medium Collage and Design
May 15th & 16th
10 AM - 4 PM
Tabor Space
5441 SE Belmont
Portland, OR 97206
I will be teaching this workshop with Nancy Walter, a talented
graphic designer, collage artist and teacher who lives in
Southern California.
Come and join us for a two-day workshop exploring the principles of design and color theory utilizing an acrylic medium collage technique. Whether you are an experienced artist, a crafter, or an art novice, this workshop offers you an opportunity to spread your creative wings. We offer a collaborative environment in which to explore all of your artistic urges.
This workshop will give participants two days to get in touch with their creative center by exploring the use of color and design to create beautiful collages.
Collage is a medium which opens the doors to creating beautiful, expressive
art. Unlike traditional wet glue techniques, use of acrylic medium allows the
artist to work with dry material during creation. In the final step, the materials
are heat sealed on to the substrate creating a very smooth integrated image.
This technique allows for the use of a wide range of materials and the flexibility
to manipulate images.
The instructors will spend some time discussing design and color theory, and
demonstrating the technique, but the majority of the workshop time will be devoted to hands-on work by the participants. Our goal is to allow you to experience the joy of creating art. Our goal is to support your process and assist you in opening the doors to your creativity.
Located in lower Mt. Tabor, Tabor Space offers a beautiful setting for creativity, with sweeping views of Portland’s West Hills and Mt. St. Helens. It is close to restaurants on Belmont, has a charming coffee bar in the bell tower, is close to public transportation and has free parking.
Cost: $225.00, includes all materials, tools and informational handouts.

Registration closes on April 30th. Register before April 15th and receive a 10% discount. Hold your spot with a $50 non-refundable deposit. A maximum of 12 participants can be accommodated.
